Business Partnerships
Lunch and Learn  BISCO is working to bridge expectations of high school students
and business leaders for the purpose of educating today’s students about the realities of
various careers in our community.   Using an assessment tool, students identify their
areas of vocational interest.   After doing so, they are invited to a “lunch and learn”
presentation by business people and professionals who come from careers that match
their interest areas.

Adopt-A-School – This program began in 1996 to create partnerships between the
individual schools and businesses.   Businesses can help the schools with projects and
funding.   Schools also assist the businesses in anyway that they may need assistance.

Career Fair – BISCO sponsors and provides support for a Career Fair held for our
students at WHS on an every other year basis.   Over 40 businesses share information
about skills needed and job opportunities at their business.

BISCO Community Breakfast – This idea began as a way to get more businesses
involved in the mission of BISCO seven years ago and continues today.   The annual
breakfast is held in the late winter or early spring of each year and kicks off the BISCO
annual campaign.   Past speakers have included:   Governor Bill Janklow, Governor
Michael Rounds, Senator John Thune, Senator Tom Daschle, Representative Stephanie
Herseth, and Mr. Doug Grow.  For more information click here.

Junior Achievement – BISCO continues to support and fund Junior Achievement in the
Watertown School District.   Junior Achievement provides information to students, taught
by community members, regarding business and economics in our community.
